It is very important to express all of your emotions. It’s the stuff we keep bottled up inside that eats away at us and makes us ill. Being open about your emotions shows great strength and bravery, and when it is appropriate, it is extremely healthy. If showing your emotions in a dysfunctional manner~makes others so uncomfortable that they don’t want to be around you, or it impedes your ability to earn a living, etc. then it is a problem. Otherwise sensitivity, empathy, sympathy, affection, tears, and concern for others and acknowledging your own tender emotions is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. Your showing courage to be yourself! Those who don’t show emotions are usually uncomfortable with their feelings and the feelings of others. They also have a difficult time getting close to people. Being comfortable with your feelings leads to a very rewarding relationship if you are with emotionally available people as well.
